Στις 8 Μαρτίου 2023, το Γραφείο του Διευθυντή Εθνικής Υπηρεσίας Πληροφοριών των ΗΠΑ δημοσίευσε την Ετήσια Εκτίμηση Απειλής. Μέσα σε αυτήν καθορίζονται οι δρώντες/παράγοντες εκείνοι που αποτελούν τις κυριότερες απειλές για την αμερικανική εθνική ασφάλεια, σύμφωνα με τις εκτιμήσεις της αμερικανικής κοινότητας υπηρεσιών πληροφοριών. Η σημασία του εν λόγω εγγράφου έγκειται στο γεγονός ότι αποτελεί την βάση για την χάραξη της εξωτερικής πολιτικής των ΗΠΑ και κατ’ επέκταση την διαμόρφωση των διμερών σχέσεων των ΗΠΑ με τους υπόλοιπους διεθνείς δρώντες.
