Το Πεκίνο έχει ζωτικά συμφέροντα στον Περσικό Κόλπο, καθότι η σταθερότητα του τελευταίου είναι εξαιρετικά κρίσιμη για τον ενεργειακό εφοδιασμό του, και κατ’ επέκταση για την ενεργειακή ασφάλειά του, αλλά και για τα μεγαλεπήβολα επενδυτικά σχέδιά του στην περιοχή, τα οποία αποσκοπούν να μειώσουν δραστικά το κόστος των εξαγωγών του και των ενεργειακών εισαγωγών του.
Ο ΑΛΕΞΗΣ ΛΕΚΑΚΗΣ ΚΕΡΚΥΡΑΙΟΣ είναι υποψήφιος διδάκτωρ Ιρανικής Εξωτερικής Πολιτικής στο τμήμα Διεθνών, Ευρωπαϊκών και Περιφερειακών Σπουδών του Παντείου Πανεπιστημίου κι υπότροφος του Ιδρύματος Κρατικών Υποτροφιών (ΙΚΥ). Στο πλαίσιο της υπό εκπόνηση διατριβής του, έχει πραγματοποιήσει επιτόπια έρευνα στην Τεχεράνη.
